Clothes trend f/w 2010

Rich textures...gilded brocade embroidery.Velvet, leather and feathers. This fall winter fashion is very luxurious. I love all that's there. Apart from gilded brocade being very baroque. There are a lot of leather trims in fabrics too. The strong 50's influence shows up many knee length or longer lady- like pieces. Shoulder's are dropped and there is a 'borrowing from boy friend ' kind of a looked with long, over sized shirts and trousers playing a big part. Trousers are long and loose, like in the 90's.Camel colour is the new black. There is a lot of deep Jewel toned hues.Flamboyant style this winter is very colourful. The red this time is a Coral red. Elbow length gloves are still around from last years trend but they are in all colours. Knits are HUGE this year. Midi skirts are all a rage, the look on all major catwalk in fashion capitals were almost secretarial. Faux furs are present in all major designers collections. The 'smoking' or man up style is in style for women with  well cut cigarette pant.Buttons are in the limelight. Minis are out. Envelope pants are in.The all leather look is very popular too. Capes are making a comeback. The minimalistic style is back from the 90's. The sexy secretarial looks popular.Gold is popular in fabrics..it's all sooo fantastic! I need to get skinny just to be able to wear all that and feel soo glam!! Anyway I really think a women can never be too rich or too thin. Who's quote IS that! Some pictures to give you an idea of whats 'hot' or'cool' this winter, so can look effortlessly chic! Which I strongly believe is the only way to be chic..effortless in the way you pull your 'look' together. Hope some of you have given your image a long good look...I mean the men AND women after my past post. Any questions just write on comments. See you!

Defining Luxury

Been thinking about what Luxury is. Apart from the obvious, the premium branded clothes, bags, the boutique hotels, resorts, Armani Hotel, the best champagne, chocolates, great car, a wow house..gold..you know the whole 'works'! Private jet's- a pool in the backyard..the list goes on and on. What is really luxury for all those who have been there done that ; is the luxury of time, the luxury of clean air, food that is not loaded with chemicals, hormones, modified. Just pure natural nature with no advertisements or marketing gimmicks. A quiet place with your loved ones without being plugged in..to the iPhone, computer, pods,TV,etc. So luxury now is divided into what a person perceives as luxury and not just the old idea of luxury. My luxury has been to choose if I want to work or not. To have the option to stay home with my little girl and watch her grow. Looking at how crazily busy life gets; I think the biggest luxury for everyone is the luxury of time.

F/W make up trends.

Hi Girls! I know shoe and clothes trends are all over the net and easy to access. I was trying to figure out the 'look' for this f/w in make up and nail trend and had a bit of a tough time. So thought I could make things easier and get you all trends here. My First in a series for trends is the make-up and nail trend this winter. Eye make-up has gone dark, really, really dark. It's all black basically with no colour or shades of grey and black. Dramatic! Lips are very 'vampire' but deep colours. It's pale with emphasis on lips or eyes. Nails are all dark deep colours too and some gold. Sephora has this cool kit...kind of like make up for dummies, thing. Their black smoky eye look is worth investing in. My next post....Clothes trends!

“Fashions fade, style is eternal" - Yves Saint Laurent

I wish I had quoted this first...but this is what I have truly believed in. It's so important for a women or a man for that matter to find his style. This is not a easy process. It's takes a brave person to look into yourself lovingly but being constructively critical and finding your 'style' What is it this then? For me it's finding out what my essence is. What makes me who I am. What do I project to the people around me? What statement do I make? Really the clothes you wear, how you wear it, what shoes you choose, what colour you wear....I think it all says a lot. My colours depend on my mood. When I'm happy, sad, gloomy or feeling sexy. I tend to choose my clothes to say something to the world...knowingly or unknowingly..we all do.
So take some time for yourself and find your style. I could help you...but doing it all by yourself is much more satisfactory.

My litttle secret

I think every little girl remembers the first time she slipped on her mamas hi heels. I still remember my mom being cross at me. Hummm but the feeling! Suddenly I was so tall and felt grown up and a bit of my mom's glamour rubbed of on me. Watching her getting ready to go out with dad.Observing her put on her lipstick, Peeking into her make up, being told not to touch her perfume bottles and snatching one away and hiding behind the door and spraying it on...these memories and feelings are what shaped me, influenced me. To this day I am very girly ,girl. I love my make up, hi-heeled shoes, anything shiny the soft luxurious feel of silk and (Faux)fur. It's not funny how if you put me into a shop with mixed wares I will always pick the most expensive one! You could call it a talent of mine. One which really tired my parents when I was young. I could wait and wait but always wanted what I had fixed my eye on. till this day I am the same. I am a terrible shopper...in the sense, unlike most women, I hate (maybe that too strong a word) shopping. I buy stuff in bulk and the reason I am so efficient with my shopping is just that dirty little secret of mine...yes I dislike it! Oh! but if I am in the 'mood' there is no limit to what I can buy..it's not about the quantity for me. It's the quality ;)
